Apparently God and Religion are on Equal Footing With Porn

As parents of two young daughters my wife and I are very cautious about, and closely monitor, the Internet content and websites that our daughters visit. Since their ages are six and eight respectively, it's mostly been Disney.com, Nickelodeon.com and PBSKids.com.

It's safe to say that any self-respecting, responsible parent wants to protect their child from inadvertently surfing into the mucky mire of obscene or adult content online, which streams through the Internet as does wastewater sludge through sewer pipes.

I mean it's ultimately the job of parents to protect kids from viewing potentially damaging images and content that are violent, racist, pornographic, obscene or....apparently related to God or religion.

"Huh, what's that last bit - protecting kids against religious content?" you might ask - and the troubling answer would be yes.

I was stunned when I recently stumbled upon this MSN.com story by Helen A.S. Popkin that includes an overview of a new anti-religious software filter called GodBlocker.
