The pre-race family - all bright-eyed at 7:30am (ugh!) |
I think this was taken shortly after mile 10, I carried a small flag in my visor - that's what was flapping behind my head |
This was around mile 18 on the Mall in downtown DC. I was running even though the photo looks like I'm walking |
This is the finish photo taken in front of the Iwo Jima Marine Corp Memorial - it'll be hard to top that feeling! |
wow great job Tor.. You are looking good...
ReplyDeleteThese are great pics, husband, thanks for sharing! You did an amazing job. I won't forget that mental picture I have of you coming up that last mile STILL smiling AND runnning!!
ReplyDeleteWe're so proud of you!!! :)
Wow Tor, just wow! What an amazing AMAZING accomplishment! You are such an inspiration. Your story (as I've followed it over the course of time) has inspired me to want to do more. For the first time in my life, I actually WANT to run, and am actually enjoying it. It was not until I decided that I wanted this for myself (instead of it being a requirement in the Army, for my job or whatever) that it became real. Instead of being a requirement, it's a new passion. Strange to me, but I'm really enjoying this new journey that I'm on.
ReplyDeleteSorry to have gotten off onto that bunny trail. Again, I am grateful for your transparency and sharing your journey with the world. It is an inspiration to many. Don't ever forget that. Thanks so much for sharing the pictures and emotions that went along with this marathon, and in all you share.
@Laura, thanks for the positive feedback. I'm thrilled that you're running AND enjoying it - that's almost an oxymoron. Seriously, that's great news!
