It was bound to happen sometime.....

At today's WeightWatcher weigh-in, I was up six ounces (or up nearly half-a-pound, but six ounces sounds like less) over last week.

Bummer.

But, there's nothing I can do about the past - I have to keep moving forward forgetting what lies behind (without forgetting the extra ounces actually ON my behind).

Here's the week-by-week break down of my adventures in WeightWatching:

Week 1: -4.8 lbs
Week 2: -3.2 lbs
Week 3: -1.0 lbs
Week 4: -3.4 lbs
Week 5: -3.6 lbs
Week 6: -2.2 lbs
Week 7: -1.2 lbs
Week 8: -2.4 lbs
Week 9: -1.2 lbs

Week 10: -0.0 lbs
Week 11: -1.4 lbs
Week 12: +0.6 lbs

My total weight loss to date is -23.6 lbs since I began WeightWatchers on April 7th.  That averages out to -1.97 lbs per week. Let's hope I can turn this thing around.

At today's meeing, the group leader "Elyse" said, "So you gained alittle - don't sweat it!  You're not perfect -none of us are. If you were we'd all hate you!" Those are comforting words right now....
Oh well, that'll do it for today; hopefully there will be less of me to write about next week.

  1. Ya know what, you are doing fantastic overall. I have said it before, and I will say it again - watching your progress and moving forward is setting a great example for me. Having said that, keep in mind that we just had a holiday weekend. I'm not sure how you ate, but I know I didn't eat well. That also said, I am excited to mention that in 2 weeks, I'll have my first report to share. It looks like I will be going back to Weight Watchers early next week. (Haven't been in months and have recently realized that there is no time like the present.) Then, the following week, I'll have to let ya know how it went. So, thank you again for posting your progress, and for being real. No matter if you've lost a couple, or gained a little bit, please know that you are a huge encouragement to others.

  2. Hey Tor,

You have been doing great, .6 lbs is nothing, with this hot weather it can play with your weight. Just keep moving forward, as I know you are. Also if your doing strength training that could account for your gain, even thiugh you have lost fat mass you may have gained muscle, which is more important then what the scale will ever say. Its the body comp that is most important. And stay hydrated too, if you drink to little then that will make you retain water and thus you gained weight too.

  3. @Laura, you are very kind! Thanks for the support and encouraging words. It's difficult at times to keep a positive attitude but continued affirmation from you and others really help! Thanks again!

  4. @Matt, thanks for the reminders! I've been doing a minimum amount of strength training, and I thought I've been drinking a TON of water - but I guess you can't over hydrate with the high temps we've had here this past week. Thanks for sharing your expert tips!

  6. @Kim, I wish I could attribute it to late-night snacking...then I'd know for sure where the extra six ounces came from!
