I Want to Hear From You!!!

Usually I'm spouting off about something or other her, but I'd really like to hear from you!

Now that May is over and summer has unofficially begun I thought it would be cool to go back and look at a few of your favorite things from his Spring.

In the comment section below, please share with us the best book you read; movie you saw or experience you had in the few weeks - please include a few sentences why. My hope is to spark a bit of discussion and interaction here.

Calling All Bloggers!!!!
If you're a blogger, leave a comment with a link to your favorite blog post that you wrote in March, April, or May. (If you're not a blogger, leave a comment to your favorite blog post on someone else's blog during the Spring.) There's nothing wrong with shameless self-promotion.

Excited to read your favorites!

  1. Hi Tor: May was really interesting. Let's see..favorites..
Movie wise, I saw a number of movies, but the one that popped into my head the second you asked is "Thor." I'm a comic book fan/geek/nerd, with a huge collection. Except for some of the poor CGI flying over Asgard scenes and a badly (IMO) miscast Sif, I thought this was a GREAT adaptation of the Thor series from Marvel. Plus, what can be bad with watching both Kat Dunning AND Natalie Portman!! I thought the backstory and set up were spot on.

Books: I read a lot. Favorite Fiction: "The Alchemist" by Paolo Bacigalupi (not the same one most people think about). A fantasy novella from a great new SciFi writer. Favorite NonFiction: "On Writing" by Stephen King. I wasn't crazy about all the personal storytelling he did, but once he got into the craft I did learn a lot. The book was breezy to get through.

My favorite of my own posts in May:
Tale Spinning: "Birdsong: The Walkabout Man"
    BornStoryteller: Curriculum Left Behind

I saw more movies, read more book, listened to a lot of music (OH...exciting "new discovery" for me: Emilie Simon!! Like a young Kate Bush in style), and had more likes in my two blogs.

Looking forward to hearing from others.

  2. Stuart, outstanding!!! I too am a comic/graphic novel geek. Specific to Natalie Portman, is there any other actress who has kissed both Thor and Darth Vader??? I don't think so....
